Statutory Basis
The Fourth Schedule of the Constitution of Kenya identifies foreign affairs and foreign policy as a function of the National Government. The Foreign Service Act, 2021 (Cap. 185E) provides the operating framework for the Service.

Registrar of Treaties
Treaty Custody
Maintains records of treaties Kenya is party to, monitors implementation of ratified agreements, and tracks proposed treaties for ratification.

Privileges Administration
Administers privileges to foreign missions, UN offices, and international organisations, while promoting Kenya's global image through efficient service delivery.
